General Care Guide for Alocasia Regal Shield Albo
The Alocasia Regal Shield Albo is pretty low maintenance so long as it has a few requirements met:
Light: The variegated areas, in particular, are susceptible to sun scorch and stress. Bright but indirect light is best. In low light, leaves may revert to a non-variegated appearance.
Water: Allow the top couple inches of soil to dry completely before re-watering.
Humidity: Variegated leaves are more prone to drying out, so you'll want to maintain fairly high humidity (at least 60%, ideally closer to 75%).
Soil: A mix for aroids is ideal, e.g. peat or coco coir + orchid bark + perlite + (some rich organic matter)
Fertilizer: During the active growing season (spring through summer), feed monthly with a balanced fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce or discontinue fertilization in the dormant months.
Pruning: Remove yellowing or dead leaves to keep the plant tidy and reduce pathogen risk.
